    Slope = rise / run

    = (1 – -5) / (4-2)

    = 6/2

    = 3   answer

    There is 2 ways to find the slope

    \frac{rise}{run}[tex]\frac{y^{2} – y^{1}  }{x^{2} – x^{1}  } }[/tex]

    y^{2} = -5  , x^{2} = 2   , y^{1} = 1 , x^{1} = 4

    \frac{-5 - 1 }{2 - 4} = \frac{-6}{-2} simplfy by dividing by -2 = \frac{3}{1}
